From time to time I have guests blog whatever it is they feel like blogging. I will not tell them what to blog; I won’t edit it; I won’t influence the Guest Blogger in any way.
After posting Art’s guest blog on “the angry porn fan” this weekend, I got some e-mails…and another take on the same subject from a reader named Shane. So I’ll run his take on the angry fan, and then I think it’s safe to say we’re gonna put this topic to rest.

I’d like to pass on my theory about “angry porn fans”. While I do agree with many points made by the guest poster, and think he makes some good arguments, I don’t think that it is any one thing or common cause for this phenomena. I think that it is a complex issue that has mental, social, and physiological components that all play a part.
If you only consider one part of the equation, then it’s fairly simple to explain.
Guy’s a racist? Then it’s easy to see why he gets inflamed over IR porn. Guy lives in his parent’s basement and his only sexual experience has been tugging off the family dog? It’s easy to see why he resents hot chicks. Some guy is a henpecked jerk with low self esteem who can’t get a blowjob from his spouse? Easy to see why he is ashamed to be punching the monkey huddled over a computer monitor late at night.
Pretty straightforward. So why do some of these guys get so agitated then? Why do they continue to view and seek out materials that disturb and upset them? Why does that anger become so great that they need to express it?
Because I don’t think that it’s that simple.
Jut the simple act of jerking off even without external stimulation causes a powerful cocktail of hormones and natural chemicals to be activated in the body. It can cause strong emotions. Pornographic materials can stimulate and feed into these emotional responses, both mentally and physiologically. Well adjusted porn viewers make the differentiation between the reality that they live in and the fantasies they engage in to get off. Those that can’t are the ones that become angry. They’re the guys that take it personal. At worst, for some of these guys, porn becomes sex by proxy and they internalize it.
The anger develops when there is a factor that causes a conflict with this internalization. This can be due to societal reasons for example. A married man may feel guilty about pulling his pudd to porn because of what his wife or friends might think. There could be personal reasons. Feelings of inadequacy over penis size. Deficiencies in personal sex life. Things like that.
I think that it’s also important to make a distinction between degrees of “angry porn fans”, because I think there is a difference between an angry fan, and an Angry Fan.
Lower case angry fans are the ones that perhaps feel some self loathing after masturbating to pornography. There may be some guilt as to the nature of the materials that stimulated their libido. Their expressions of anger are limited to easily accessible targets. Forum posts, comments on sites, that sort of thing. These are the kinds of guys that are probably angry in general anyway. The guy that flips out and goes into a frothing rant on other (non-porn) forums is this kind of angry guy.
Upper case Angry Fans are those that become angry to the extent that they actively go out of their way to cause harm to specific targets. These are the ones that try to find out the “real” identities of porn actors, and out them, among other things. This type of behaviour is more akin to stalking and to me indicates deeper issues than just anger.
In either case, I think that it is important to note that the cause of the anger is not necessarily related to the porno princess herself, but to the “angry fan’s” feelings about themselves. It’s just that the porno princess becomes a convenient target because of the disparity of anonymity between the “angry fan” and the porno princess, and the social status of the porno princess’s occupation. In other words, it’s easy for a stalker or other wing nut to make ad hominem attacks on a porno princess because much of society will permit or accept it, with little risk to the attacker.
However, porn or no porn, these guys would still be angry, it would just be about something else.
I dunno i’ve read both of these blog posts and while insightful in some ways I think really they are maybe going a bit too deep to come up with explanations. Time to call a spade a spade, most of these guys who get super angry about stuff in porn are just plain ol’ fashion assholes , who are probably assholes about everything, not just porn.
I have an average sized dick, my bank account is a joke, and my real life sexual exploits are rather pathetic compared to a lot of people, and can honestly say I have never been angry watching or in the aftermath of watching porn. In fact I really don’t give any thought at all to the people in the scene after I am finished stroking off, you wanna know why? It’s because I am too damn busy with the next thing in my life to give it any thought.
That kind of sums it up to me, most of the angry people are just assholes who need to move on. Seriously go find something, anything, better to do than being angry about the life decisions of an 18-25 year old stranger.

Billy i red your request on twitter, and i would have liked to write on the subject but first i would have had to write it in spanish so that i could kind of make some sense and don´t fuck up on grammar and make it worth a post in you blog. Second after some thought i couldn´t come up with real reasons on why there were angry porn fans, specially because to me porn is fun and good times; to me it is a way to live fantasies and have fun, i watch porn and jerk to it on my own, sometimes i do it with my wife, sometimes i do it with my wife not to jerk off but to do along as we fuck, we have learned some stuff from porn, both things that we like and some that we dont. But yes most of the time i just like to jerk off alone and have a goot time, and i do have learned a lot from it, yes specially on my own, i sure dont want to sound like the “i only watch porn with my wife” NO most of the time i do it on my own lol. So i thought i could only speculate and that was of no value. I believe that the only ones who could tell the real reasons why they are angry fans would be angry fans themselves; and well i thought and still think that a real angry fan would not have the balls to be completely honest with himself about his stupid angry actions, much less be honest to you and the people that read you blog, so i pretty much the think we will never have a real answer on this. We might only speculate and not get the real reasons, cause angry fans are never coming forward on the real reasons why they act how they act toward porn and porn people, simply because i believe the mental issues go beyond porn for them.
The only analogy i can come up with is addictions, some people have an addictive personality and the will be addicts no matter what, some to alcohol, some to drugs, some to work, some to cleanliness, you name it; because it is in them.
In that same way these angry fans and their pathetic actions go beyond porn and maybe they feel safer doing it to porn stars, than to britney spears or lady gaga; or maybe it is not because they feel safer its because they feel closer since they see the girls naked. I believe they just have mental issues that make them that way instead of just enjoying it.
And there ya go, i guess this is going where i did not wanted it to go, because i am only speculating and i certainly do not have a clue on wether i am right or totally wrong, i just wish one of those angry fans would have the balls to be honest to himself and then some really really wishful thinking would be to him having the balls to post it here.
That is my rant(does that make me an agry fan? lol) and i hope i made some sense, i am really sorry for my english writing skills and hopefully i do not sound in a way or tone it is not intended.

I see things as even simpler: either you’re a user or you’re being used. Post-whack a porn viewer is left alone with a bill, a shriveled cock, and a sticky sock. Very interesting discussion, thank you Billy Watson for being the instigator. The angry porn fan (or Angry Porn Fan) seems to have a lot of say in the industry. Directors make product the public wants to see. If this is indeed represented in modern porno, the public wants to see girls degraded. Every person is entitled to enjoy or ignore whatever they like, but these guys that take it personal with these girls heavily dictate the acts these girls are filmed doing.
However, I don’t think you can generalize porn fans anymore than you can judge porn starlets. Every person is different and led by their own unique insecurities. I wish dudes wouldn’t go so far as to lash out at the industry, and also I wish the leaders of the industry wouldn’t screw over the talent either. People just need to be good to each other and not act from emotion. Easier said than done I suppose.

I don’t understand why dudes would be jealously of dick size when most dudes in porn have the what I call The Big Limp Factor going on. Basically they are fucking hot ass women but their dick is always slipping out and laying on their stomach.
