I took a class on his films in college and it gave me an even greater appreciation of his work. No doubt he must have received some of the same criticisms as you do for his work back in the sixties.
Besides the Screen Tests, I can’t watch any of his films for more than 15 minutes or so. I forget the critic who once said something like — his movies are better talked about than watched.

What a shame. I have always appreciated Andy’s films even more than his paintings. I think all of his films were avante garde and prophetic. I know you are a smart guy. If you ever need to know about the era of Andy Warhol, basquiat, kieth Harring, etc. hit me up. I’d be glad to enlighten over a beer.
Warhol was an overrated hack, and he knew it. So was Basquiat.
